"We Want the Airwaves"
To raise awareness of the 20th anniversary of the
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) Young
NCB NI members worked alongside other youth organisations in
Northern Ireland in a project to take over the
airwaves and talk about issues which
affect young people everyday such as mental health, play
& leisure & how young people are perceived in their local
communities and by the media.
The young people took over some of the most popular TV and radio
shows and interviewed Politicians, talked to radio presenters,
did a feature on UTV's Seven Thirty Show & much more!
They successfully highlighted Children & Young peoples
issues over the entire week and the project hopes to continue
throughout the year to continue to raise people's awareness of
Children's Rights.
