London Assembly Vote to keep free bus & tram travel
Young NCB welcomes the news that free bus travel for young
Londoners will not be scrapped.
A huge thanks and well done to everyone who took part in the
campaign to keep free bus and tram travel for under 18’s in
education. We are delighted to hear that enough MPs voted to keep
it at the final budget meeting held at The London Assembly on the
14th Feb.
Thanks to everyone who took part in our online poll and gave
views on whether free bus travel for young Londoners should be
kept. The results of the poll showed that 97% of people of all ages
who responded to the poll - nearly 500 in total – want the free
transport scheme to continue.
Young NCB and NCB also collected a over 1000 signatures in
favour of keeping the free travel scheme which was personally
handed to the Mayor of London Ken Livingstone.
